Christalena Hughmanick grew up in Lancaster Pennsylvania where her love of fiber arts began with a simple knitting lesson from her Mother. She continued to explore knitting and other interests during her education at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. After graduating in 2004 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Fibers she went on to study abroad in Paris where the first It Knits pieces were conceived. She enjoys introducing a fresh approach to the knitting tradition while keeping people warm and cozy. Christalena continues to live and work in Baltimore where all It Knits are designed and created in her home studio.
